Midnight ("we", "us") is operated by Pine & Lime. This policy explains what data we collect when you use midnight.pinenlime.com and our WhatsApp service, how we use it, and your rights.
1. Data We Collect
Information you provide:
- Names and birthdays of people in your reading
- WhatsApp phone number (if you choose to share it)
- Relationship type and anniversary (couples mode)
- Messages you send via WhatsApp
Information collected automatically:
- Approximate location (city/country, derived from your IP address — we do not store your IP)
- Device type, screen size, browser, and timezone
- How you arrived (referrer URL, UTM campaign parameters)
- Usage analytics (pages viewed, features used, timestamps)
2. How We Use Your Data
- Generate your astrology compatibility reading
- Send you your results and birthday reminders via WhatsApp
- Power the Midnight AI chat (your conversation history helps it give better answers)
- Improve the product (aggregate analytics, not individual tracking)
- If you opt in, suggest relevant Pine & Lime gifts around birthdays
3. Third-Party Services
We use the following services that may process your data:
- Azure OpenAI — generates readings and chat responses (your input is processed but not used for model training)
- WhatsApp Cloud API (Meta) — message delivery
- Mixpanel — product analytics (anonymized usage patterns)
- Meta Pixel — ad measurement (no personal data shared beyond standard pixel events)
- Microsoft Clarity — session recordings for UX improvement
- Azure PostgreSQL — data storage (hosted in East US region)
4. Data Retention
- Reading data and conversation history are retained for up to 12 months
- You can request deletion at any time by messaging "DELETE MY DATA" on WhatsApp or emailing us
- Analytics data is retained in aggregate form and cannot be traced back to individuals after 90 days
5. Your Rights
- Access — you can ask what data we hold about you
- Deletion — you can ask us to delete your data
- Opt out — reply STOP on WhatsApp to unsubscribe from all messages
- Correction — you can ask us to correct inaccurate data
6. Children
Midnight is not intended for anyone under 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has provided us data, please contact us and we will delete it.
7. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit (TLS) and at rest (Azure encryption). Database access is restricted by firewall rules. We do not sell or share your personal data with third parties for their own marketing purposes.
